| Orphanage program: Working in partnership with ADRA, World Response is establishing a health care support initiative for a group of orphanages and street children. |

Starting with a single orphanage for handicapped children in the Kherson region of Ukraine, World Response provided a minivan to enable children to get to the local hospital, purchased essential medicines, as well as buying a television and video player for the children. Over the years the work has developed into a more focused program. |
The core of the initiative is now a continuing health care program for four orphanages and a street children initiative in Kiev . Medical support for HIV, STD's, drug addiction and malnutrition are the key areas of attention. WR is providing a doctor to work with the orphanages who will also offer a 'no questions asked' health service for the street children. WR will also provide essential medicines and supplies. Supplemental needs such as clothes, toys and school supplies will be provided on a more ad-hoc basis, whenever we can.
